E-commerce is one of best business on the Internet | Online ...

With all the rise of quickly world-wide-web access and shopper trust, on-line browsing is an increasingly well known way for Brits to get their merchandise, regardless of whether it is the weekly store, clothes, or presents for your cherished a single.

In 2011, a survey of 2000 USA shoppers identified that 52% purchased items over the internet at least as soon as every week and their typical on-line month to month invest was ? With these figures improving as being the months go by, it truly is nuts to not be marketing online.

Give it some thought ? there is no shop to shell out lighting and heating for and you simply might be open 24 hours a day, 7 days weekly. Additional to that, you can monitor what metropolis your shoppers are coming from, what time of day they do it, what pages are the hottest plus much more working with Google Analytics or a equivalent stats package.

You may even exam the look of your on the internet store to view if one particular edition of a web page will get you extra product sales than a further making use of split screening. This allows you to generate continual advancements to improve the number of conversions you have, along with the bottom line of that?s much more income.

Consumers in the USA invested ? 10-20 billion on the internet in the course of January 2012 and when you need a reveal of that, you need a web based shop E-commerce web page. They?re easy to update any time you modify your merchandise rates or add new lines and are the way in which forward for almost any shop-based company.

On the internet outlets are perceived as remaining more cost-effective than offline kinds, whether or not or not that is certainly actually the case that is one more fantastic cause to own an on-line retail store. If people today assume they?re obtaining a bargain they will store with you which is what you need.

These web outlets are known as ecommerce. You?ll find CMS articles managed variations obtainable that allow you to update content oneself. That is really valuable if your merchandise transform consistently or when you really need to alter rates on your own.

Having a web store, you can add your goods to Google Products Google buying allowing them to be observed inside the lookup benefits. This must help with product sales and likewise drive men and women to the website so that they can come across out more details on you and also the other products that you just offer.

Get an on-line store with your web page so you will ponder why you didn?t have one particular faster for the reason that your profits will boost.

On the net Buying: What you can perform to become More secure

Shopping on the internet is less hazardous at this time than ever before just before, though crooks still look at to find techniques to hack into programs, intercept your transactions or emails, and use phishing tactics to gather non-public information and facts from you.

If you do store on line or above the mobile phone, there are several items that you just can look at meticulously to make your obtain as safe as possible.

Commence together with your Computer system & Security Habits

Yes: the weakest link could be your own pc and security habits (or lack there of.)

All of the points discussed below aren?t a lot use should you don?t have superior firewall and security software on your own laptop or computer. The security systems that come with your laptop or computer usually ought to be supplemented by other packages such as Norton? by Symantec or McAfee.

No matter if or not you store or do on the internet banking, you really will need a comprehensive security system that includes a firewall, scanning services, software to alerts you if the personal computer is entering an ?unsafe zone,? tools to prevent viruses or malware from currently being downloaded in your laptop, and blocking features that stop unauthorized parties from gaining entry to the computer system.

Important Note: For those who have both additional than one particular deal of security software in your laptop, there is certainly a chance they could cancel out some of each others? features. You really must pick 1 security system and stay with that.

Wireless connections are great, but they may require stricter security to protect you while surfing, particularly for on line banking or purchases. Don?t necessarily take the advice from the laptop shop salesperson: contact your ISP about what security will best protect you giving what you use your laptop for.

Then, make sure you keep your subscription current and regularly check (or have your pc set-up to automatically receive) that by far the most recent protection updates are downloaded. Regular security scans are also a very good idea.

Use Discretion, and a Bit of Suspicion
By now, most folks are aware of the scams from self-proclaimed alleged ?royals? from Africa or Europe who just will need a little bit within your cash to get a big windfall, which they?re going to discuss with you. An entire book could be devoted to the ?Do?s? and ?Don?ts? of providing information on the internet or by telephone.

The just one thing you should always remember: Never, and that is certainly N-E-V-E-R, give out any facts unless you know exactly to whom you are giving it and for what purpose. No bank or credit will ever before email you or call you for this info: they already have this info and don?t must ask you for it. And never provide banking account numbers, bank routing numbers, or credit card numbers making use of email to anyone.

No matter how secure your personal computer is, the nature of email means that it just isn?t prudent.

And, while having your browser or a website remember your user name and password is convenient if you?re on the web for the short time, it?s not a secure practice to use all of the time. You ought to really clear your browsers? cache and history each time you leave the Website, especially if you?ve been shopping or used on-line banking.

You need to also transform your email passwords on a regular basis and keep them in a safe and sound place. And a safe and sound place is not yet another email account.

What to Seem for When Buying Online
You would like to find out extra than pretty pictures and catchy phrases any time you make your buy decisions. Odds are you?ve see a logo on the web page that says VeriSign, ?Trustwave,? or a further certificate stating they provide on the net security all through your transaction.

What?s the difference between different brands? Not substantially, except some brands have a lot more ?status? than others. In reality, most security programs pretty considerably the same security protocols and most processors are mighty careful. If something goes wrong, the liability and losses (financial and reputational) is usually tremendous.

Often, merchants get these icons/logos strictly for marketing purposes. That is not merely the opinion of this author; as VeriSign says on their website:

?People make decisions rapid when they browse the Internet and your link has to stand out to earn a click. VeriSign Seal-in-Search technology puts the VeriSign Have faith in Seal next towards your link in search outcomes on enabled browsers and partnering Web sites. Seal-in-Search shows that your web site has been verified by VeriSign and passed an internet web-site malware scan. Your link is secure to follow.?

And, so many merchants obtain certificates, in part as a marketing tool. So, for those who don?t see a VeriSign, Trustwave or other certificate, don?t worry all that considerably. Payment processors generally make sure that any buying cart is secure just before they?re going to perform transactions from any merchant.

Everything you do want to seem for is the icon of the payment processor that the merchant uses and irrespective of whether or not they are really PCI DSS compliant (see below). Payment processors are required by the Payments System Industry and insurance companies to own extremely strict security standards.

Commonly used processors include, but are by no means limited to ?Chargeback Guardian,? ?Authorize.Net,? ?PsiGate,? and ?LinkPoint.? Often, payment processors cover merchants with their own security seal after ensuring that the searching cart used is secure.

Don?t Just Look at Security, Payment Processors or PCI DSS Icons
When most valid icons for security certificates, payment processor validations, or PCI Audit are clicked on, a pop-up window opens to validate that the certificate is legitimate. If you click on an icon and nothing happens, it is either configured incorrectly or the merchant just copied the icon and placed it into their internet site.

The info readily available through these icons varies: sometimes you?ll see the name of the corporation that runs the site, sometimes the website?s URL is references. Keep in mind most e- stores are incorporated a name other than the web page name as many merchants run additional than just one internet site or multiple e-stores.

And, there is certainly a lot much more involved in making sure you?re dealing with an honest and legitimate enterprise.
Payment System Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard
Within the past year or so, all credit card processors and many merchants have been required to meet Payment System Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard. These standards were developed by the major credit card companies and incorporate a set of security requirements created by the Payment Card Industry.

The PCI DSS standards outline strict guidelines that specific actions merchants and payment processors must do to protect the privacy of customer data. This includes measures to protect any facts provide to over the web, as well as physical measures taken to physically safeguard any data that collected, such as invoices for tax records.

ThePCI Councilrequires that Merchants meet this set of security requirements if their small business accepts, transmits, or processes customer payment cards (such as credit cards or debit cards). It means that a merchant has undergone reviews to discover that its secure checkout meets or exceeds industry standards for encryption to ensure that you are able to acquire with confidence, knowing your personal details and payment info is secure. Merchants do not see your credit card number or your security code.

Some payments processors require that merchants undergo an audit; others permit the merchant for making the decision on their own. While the audits are a lot of work, they?re beneficial to merchants to make sure they?re doing everything possible to protect customer data, as well as the merchant?s interests. Sometimes, insurance companies ask that merchants undergo the audit.

Making Payments in excess of the Telephone
This is up to you and your comfort level together with the merchant. While most small businesses will take credit or debit card information and facts about the telephone, many responsible merchants will ask that you just stay on the line while they enter the credit card selection into the processing system. This way, they don?t have to write down or record the credit card amount in any shape or form. It protects the customer and protects the merchant.

Most merchants, by just how, never see your credit card amount or the security code on the back. These are truncated by the payment processor which merchant for 1 like it to get this way. In fact, the moment a credit card transaction is processed, payment processors will enable a merchant to refund the shopper any amount up to the amount paid by the client. But, a merchant can never charge additional funds unless permission is granted by the shopper through a separate independent transaction.

Isn?t PayPal Much more Secure?
PayPal is a legitimate choice for consumers who feel additional comfortable going through a large well-known company, especially folks that do not have credit cards or who only have American Express which any merchants, on line and otherwise, do not accept.

For many, PayPal offers comfort and a sense of security. Since merchants like to keep shoppers happy, most let them decide how to shell out. But is PayPal extra secure than other payment processors? Well, most payment processors pretty a lot all use similar security protocols and that includes PayPal. And, PayPal has many employees that may have accessibility towards your info.

PayPal?s web-site has a video that implies that merchants require a heck of the lot more than a credit card number, CVC code and expiration date all of which protect the customer in situation someone has obtained your credit card range and other info such for banking data, digits of bank accounts and passwords and important things that simply are not required.

That is simply not true of legitimate merchants. If a merchant ever before asks you for personal data such as how many kids you have, your annual household income, banking account data if you are paying by credit card, or anything else that makes you feel uncomfortable, go elsewhere. This information and facts is completely unnecessary for an internet transaction.

And, if you leave the site make sure you clear your browser?s cache and make the acquire elsewhere. You can find quite few products obtainable on the net through only a single internet site.

Note: PayPal does store two forms of payment for recurring payments such as subscriptions, usually credit card data, and your bank account number and your bank?s routing amount.

A different video says on PayPal?s web-site states that PayPal is much more secure it prevents merchants from seeing your payment facts.? Well, as noted above, most merchants NEVER see this data.

Gunmen attack prison, police station in northeast Nigeria

Suspected Islamists attacked a prison, police station and local government office in northeastern Nigeria, wounding at least three police officers, officials and residents said Wednesday.

"The (police) station was set ablaze," police spokesman Samuel Tizhe told AFP of the attack in Konduga on Tuesday night. "They attacked the secretariat and prison ... They started with firing, then they put explosives."

Residents said they suspected the attackers were members of Islamist group Boko Haram, though Tizhe declined to comment on who the suspects were.

The spokesman said at least three policemen were wounded but no deaths had been reported. He could not say whether any prisoners had fled during the attack.

Konduga is some 40 kilometres (25 miles) from Maiduguri, which has served as the base of Boko Haram, blamed for scores of attacks that have killed hundreds, mainly in Nigeria's north.

While Maiduguri has been repeatedly hit by violence, Tuesday night's incidents marked the first major attack in Konduga.

Residents said gunmen stormed the town on Tuesday evening, shooting and bombing the police station and local government headquarters. One resident said a church was also attacked, but police had not confirmed the information.

Hundreds of people fled the violence, though calm had returned on Wednesday morning. The extent of the damage was not immediately clear.

"We had just finished our evening prayers when explosions and shootings erupted which set the divisional police station, the local government secretariat and a church on fire," one fleeing resident told AFP by telephone.

Another fleeing resident said "the bombing and the shooting were horrifying and forced us to abandon our homes".

"Up to 300 hundred people moved out to neighbouring Uturu and Mantamari villages," he said.

Boko Haram has been blamed for increasingly deadly and sophisticated attacks in Nigeria, Africa's most populous nation and largest oil producer.

It claimed responsibility for the August suicide bombing of UN headquarters in the capital Abuja which killed at least 25 people, while its deadliest attack yet occurred on January 20 in Kano, Nigeria's second-largest city.

The Kano attack saw coordinated bombings and shootings that left at least 185 people dead.

Violence blamed on the sect, whose goals remain largely unclear, has since 2009 claimed more than 1,000 lives, including more than 300 this year alone, according to figures tallied by AFP and rights groups.

There has been deep concern over whether Boko Haram has formed links with outside extremist groups, including Al-Qaeda's north African branch.

Diplomats say that while it appears some Boko Haram members have been receiving training abroad, there has been no evidence of operational ties with foreign groups.

Nigeria's 160 million population is roughly divided between a mainly Muslim north and predominately Christian south.

TN Primary 2012: Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum Tied But Newt Gingrich Not Far Behind

div>

March 6 (Reuters) - The race to win the Republican Party's presidential nomination to challenge President Barack Obama turns to 10 states holding primaries and caucuses on "Super Tuesday," including Tennessee.
Here are a few facts about the Tennessee Republican primary.

* Tennessee's primary is expected to be a tussle between former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, a former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania, and former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Santorum had been leading Romney in opinion polls but that gap has narrowed to a virtual statistical tie. Following close behind is Gingrich, from neighboring Georgia, who hopes for a strong showing to help revive his campaign.

* In the 2008 Tennessee primary, Romney came in third, winning about 24 percent of the vote. A Romney win in the southern conservative state would be considered an upset.

* Tennessee had an estimated population of 6.4 million people in 2011, with a faster growth than the national average. Two thirds of the residents of the state are Caucasian followed by African Americans, who make up nearly 17 percent, while 4.6 percent are Hispanic.

* Tennessee was hit hard by the economic downturn. The state's unemployment rate was 8.5 percent in December 2011, similar to the national average, reflecting job cuts trade, transportation, and hospitals, according to the state government.

* Median household income in Tennessee has dropped to $43,314 making it one of the country's poorest states. In 2010, 16.5 percent of Tennessee residents were beneath the poverty line compared with the national rate of 13.8 percent.

(AP) ? Republican Rick Santorum's position as Mitt Romney's chief challenger is intact.

After four straight losses to Romney, the former Pennsylvania senator came back by winning at least three states ? Oklahoma, North Dakota and Tennessee ? on Super Tuesday. But in the main race of the night, he narrowly lost to Romney in Ohio and missed a chance to reset the race overall.

"This was a big night tonight," Santorum told cheering supporters at a local high school before the Ohio results were known. "We have won in the West, the Midwest and the South, and we're ready to win across this country."

Santorum's three victories came as 10 states held elections from Alaska to Vermont. Romney was coming off a four-state win streak when he won in Massachusetts, Vermont, Idaho, Virginia and Ohio.

Newt Gingrich won his home state of Georgia.

Santorum's victories in two southern states seemed to be enough to fuel his underdog campaign, despite increasingly calls for the candidates to rally around front-runner Romney.

"Tonight it's clear. It's clear. We've won races all over this country against the odds," Santorum said. "When they thought, 'Oh, OK, he's finally finished,' we keep coming back. We are in this thing."

An unapologetic social conservative, Santorum has cast the race in biblical terms: He's David vs. Romney's Goliath. Even that "is probably a little bit of an understatement," Santorum said Monday.

The former senator from neighboring Pennsylvania had a shell of a campaign in Ohio, with no state headquarters and a bare-bones staff. In Romney he faced a challenger who enjoys a massive cash advantage and a political machine that's produced high-stakes victories in other states when his front-runner status was in doubt.

Santorum celebrated in Steubenville, an eastern Ohio town just a 90-minute drive from his own Pennsylvania hometown.

Earlier in the day, he delivered an in-person address to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee's annual conference in Washington. He immediately criticized Tuesday's offer by the U.S., European countries, Russia and China to resume talks with Iran on its suspected nuclear weapons program, calling it "another appeasement, another delay, another opportunity for them to go forward while we talk."

Speaking Tuesday night with his 93-year-old mother at his side, Santorum largely set aside his aggressive social agenda and focused instead on his family's blue-collar roots.

"Not too many presidential candidates come to Steubenville, Ohio, much less hold their victory party in Steubenville, Ohio," he said. "This is our roots."

US stock futures down; Greek worries continue

NEW YORK (AP) ? U.S. stock market futures followed world markets lower Tuesday as the latest deadline in the Greek debt crisis approached.

A day after markets sank in response to China trimming its growth forecast, attention turned back to Greece.

The question now is how many private creditors will accept planned bond swaps that are part of the latest bailout package for the troubled nation. Banks and other creditors have until Thursday night to decide whether or not they will participate, and success depends on a high percentage taking part.

Otherwise, Greece could default on a key bond payment on March 20

Dow Jones industrial average futures are down 92 points to 12,869. Standard & Poor's 500 futures are slipping 10.5 points to 1,353.90. Nasdaq composite index futures are off 19 points to 2,597.

Greece faces a $19.2 billion payment on a maturing bond on March 20. If the swap is successful, the country will not have to pay that amount on that date.

Uncertainty over the acceptance rate helped weigh down European markets.

The declines were tempered a bit by falling oil prices, even though the drop was triggered by slowing demand. Oil fell to almost $106 per barrel, but declines were tempered by lingering concern over Iran's nuclear program.

Crude has risen from $96 last month amid fears of a disruption in global oil supplies driven by the potential for military conflict with Iran.

U.S. stocks to watch include Monster Worldwide Inc., whose shares jumped premarket after the online job search company said it has hired advisers to help it consider strategic alternatives, language typically used when a company is considering selling itself.

And Chesapeake Energy Corp. said it is teaming up with investment firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. to invest in new oil and gas technologies in the U.S.

More than 100 Yemen troops killed in Qaeda assault

More than 100 Yemeni soldiers and at least 25 suspected Al-Qaeda gunmen were killed in attacks on military positions in the country's restive south, medics and local officials said on Monday.

Sunday's assault was one of the deadliest against Yemeni troops and the latest in a spate of attacks on security forces since President Abdrabuh Mansur Hadi pledged a crackdown on the militants in an inauguration speech last month.

A medical official at the military hospital in the southern port city of Aden, speaking on condition of anonymity, said "the death toll... has risen to at least 103" soldiers.

He said "many soldiers died from wounds sustained in the assault" on army posts on the outskirts of Zinjibar, Abyan's provincial capital where militants linked to Al-Qaeda are in control.

A military official, who also declined to be identified, told AFP Al-Qaeda militants were responsible for the "surprise attack" which had turned into "a massacre."

Another medic said hospital staff were overwhelmed by the number of casualties.

"We were forced to use administrative offices and waiting rooms to treat the wounded," he told AFP, declining to be named. "The hospital was packed full with dead and injured" soldiers.

In Washington, a Pentagon spokesman said the United States is "very concerned" about the assault.

"We view Yemen as a very important partner on counter-terrorism efforts and we're also very concerned about the clashes that have taken place there, to include AQAP (Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula) advances in certain parts in the country," press secretary George Little told reporters.

"I think it's important to put this into some context. The Yemeni government has faced challenges in certain parts of the country for some time so I wouldn't necessarily read anything at this point into the stability of the Yemeni government," he said.

Yemeni military officials reported fierce clashes on Sunday when suspected Al-Qaeda militants tried to overrun an army post in Kud, just south of Zinjibar.

The violence then spread to other military positions on the outskirts of the city.

At least 25 Al-Qaeda gunmen were killed in the fighting and several others wounded, a local official from the nearby militant stronghold of Jaar told AFP.

He also said at least 56 soldiers were captured by Al-Qaeda, including seven officers and 10 wounded soldiers.

The militants, known in Yemen as the Partisans of Sharia (Islamic law), seized control of Zinjibar and several other towns in Yemen's mostly lawless south last May as former president Ali Abdullah Saleh faced mass protests.

The military official, who was at the scene during Sunday's attack, said troops from the Kud base were "surprised" to see the militants carrying army issue weapons and using military vehicles.

Soldiers who survived the attack accused some army leaders who had served under Saleh of "collaborating" with Al-Qaeda.

On Monday, gunmen opened fire at the police chief of the Sheikh Osman district of Aden, Colonel Abdullah al-Mawzaie, wounding him and a companion as they headed for the southern province of Lahij, a security official said.

The violence highlights the security challenges facing Hadi as he tries to restore order and unify the country's armed forces, as stipulated by a Gulf-brokered transition accord that ended Saleh's 33-year rule.

On Friday, Hadi, who will lead Yemen for an interim two-year period, named General Salem Ali Qatan to head the 31st Armoured Brigade in southern Yemen, replacing Saleh loyalist General Mahdi Maqola.

The appointment was one of Hadi's first steps as head of a new military commission tasked with restructuring Yemen's divided security forces.

Some of Yemen's most powerful army units, including the Republican Guards, are commanded by Saleh's closest aides, including his son and nephew.

Yemeni political analyst Majed al-Mabjahi said Sunday's suspected Al-Qaeda assault was "a show of force" by the group.

"Given the new political environment, and the fear of impending attacks" by the new government, Al-Qaeda wants to demonstrate that any attempt to destroy the group would "come at a high cost."

In his February 25 inaugural speech, Hadi vowed to fight Al-Qaeda and restore security across the impoverished nation.

EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton pledged firm support to Hadi as she spoke to him by phone for the first time since his inauguration.

A statement, which did not refer to Sunday's deadly assault, said she had told him that "this is a key moment in Yemen's transition."
